The weir, the lake which stood west of the bridge until the 1900s, and the small island in the Dollis Brook just beyond may have serviced a watermill. The field which the Dollis passes at this point was called Mill Field in the 1720s
This rather modest bridge over the folly bridge also forms part of the Hertfordshire and Middlesex County Boundary
