Facing north from the High Street towards Pooplewells Corner and the start of Chislehurst Road. Tall building in centre of image was the old British School, built in 1841 by Mr. J. G. Stapleton. In c.1935 this building had become "A.J. Wright - motor mechanic". On immediate left is "John Goodenough Confectioner's"
