Charles Woolley noted in 1915, ‘The vault showing through the railing was opened, and the last internment in Lambeth Churchyard took place in it during Rector Reeves’ time, as witness Mr W. Wilkie Jones, Mr J.T. Causby, and Mr A.G. Hopkins, who all went in the vault personally for inspection purposes. The gentleman in the top hat is the Rev. Mr Alexander, a former curate at the Parish Church’. Photographed using the ‘wet plate’ method by William Strudwick (1834-1910). He also worked as an architect, artist and writer.
