Rev. Thomas Tiplady was the superintendent at the Lambeth Mission from 1922 to 1954. He remodelled and converted the old Lambeth Methodist Chapel into The Ideal Cinema in 1928 for a pioneering new venture to widen the influence of the church through Cinema Evangelism.
