Letter from Bertram Hall, a prisoner of war in Germany, to his family in London with annotation by his father. ‘Bert’ was captured on 6th June 1940, at Dunkirk aged just 20 years and spent the next 5 years as a POW. He had two failed attempts at escaping, but managed to finally escape in a stolen car to an American supply base.
