It was at one time owned by Samuel Smith the great grandfather of Florence Nightingale. This view is annotated, &#8216;The grounds of the late John Allnutt Esq&#8217;. He was a prosperous wine merchant and the house and grounds were redeveloped shortly after this picture was painted in 1863, now the site of Elm Road.Watercolour by H.
