The premises of William Bloom and Sons situated in a former Georgian house at 57 South Lambeth Road (formerly No.13). The firm were timber merchants specialising in imported hard and soft woods and first established themselves in Bond Street, before moving to No.57 in 1879. The house was built c.1768 on part of the Caron Estate by the plasterer William Burroughs, who had leased the land from William Blackwell, a gardener.
