Herbaceous Plants&#8217;. Malcolm (fl.1750s-1789) initially had a nursery in Kennington near the site of the Oval, but moved in 1788 to a 50-acre site in Stockwell, where he built a large house with extensive hot-houses and conservatories. This 1771 catalogue was one of the first published by a nurseryman as a scientific catalogue based upon botanic principles.  His younger son William (1769-1835) continued the nursery after his father&#8217;s death with various partners; Malcolm and Doughty (1805-10) and Malcolm and Sweet (1811).
