The year 2013 marked the 150th anniversary of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern which opened in 1863 with John Charles Taylor as publican. In the 1940s war years, drag acts often performed here attracting a gay clientele and the pub has continued to do so, making it London&#8217;s longest-running gay venue.
