An advertisement for the Tradescants’ Ark, ‘Rarities and Curiosities’ in South Lambeth Road and Britain’s first museum open to the public. John Tradescant the Younger died in 1662 and the collection at the time of this advert was still being shown to the public for an admission fee by his widow Hester.
