South Sydenham Park, on which work began c.1863, was one of the luxury estates created in Forest Hill to take advantage of the Crystal Palace boom. Inglemere Road was the last to be begun on the estate, and most of its houses were built in the mid 1880s, in a wide variety of styles, often within a single example. Hyndford House was demolished in the early 1960s. Numbers 32-44 Inglemere Road now occupy the site.
