Home Page Introduction

Lambeth Archives is now CLOSED for relocation. After 133 years at the Minet Library, we are moving to new, purpose-built premises in the heart of Brixton and expect to open in autumn 2023.

Lambeth Landmark, the fast way into Lambeth Archives image collection.

Lambeth Landmark showcases 15,000 of the best images from Lambeth Archives’ collections of photographs, drawings, prints, watercolours, maps and documents. You can find historic and contemporary pictures of Lambeth’s streets, buildings, people, communities and personalities as well as records of its events and disasters. High quality photographic prints are available of most images from the site which cover Waterloo through Brixton and Clapham to Streatham and Norwood.

The images on this page mark South Asian Heritage Month which celebrates the heritage of people with roots in the South Asian countries of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives
