The Horns Tavern and Assembly Hall, corner of Kennington Road and Kennington Park Road. The first mention of the tavern, as the Green Man and Horns, was in 1725 when a Coroner's Inquest was held here and later it became a meeting place for the Manor court. It was first renamed the Surrey Hotel and Tavern before finally becoming the Horns. In 1826 it was noted as having 'ample accommodation' for the cricketeers playing opposite on Kennington Common, as well as an assembly hall - seen here on the left. The Horns was rebuilt in 1887, but the Hall was bombed during World War II and with Victorian architecture falling from grace, the tavern was eventually demolished c.1965, being replaced by an office block.
