ESTREHAM ROAD, STREATHAM VALE: WORLD WAR I INCIDENT

Bomb damage to houses in Estreham Road, Streatham Vale, from an Airship raid by a L.31 Zeppelin, during World War I. Nine of the twelve airships which set out on this raid reached England and 371 bombs were dropped, with 40 people killed and 130 injured. The damage done was estimated at £135,000. 23rd to 24th September 1916
