HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, CARLISLE STREET, LAMBETH

Holy Trinity Church, Carlisle Street, bombed in 1940. View of the front facade, prior to demolition. The last vicar, Rev. Paul Gedge, seen riding his bicycle c.1954. The church was built on the grounds of Lambeth Palace's kitchen garden to the designs of Edward Blore at a cost of £3,000 and was consecrated by the Bishop of Winchester on the 27th June 1839.
