The War Memorial on the corner of Streatham Common North and Streatham High Road. Commemorating local residents killed both World Wars. Unveiled on 14 October 1922. This site formerly the garden of 'The Chimes', a large Victorian House which had been used as a club for ex-servicemen. Suffered flying bomb damage in 1944 and was subsequently demolished. Replaced by Albert Carr Gardens residential development.
