London Transport Co. Grippercar No. 18 on cable tramway between Kennington Gate and Telford Avenue, and standard horse car as trailer. This tramway between Kennington Gate and Brixton was the first one laid in Surrey, 1870. Converted to cable traction and extended to Streatham Hill, 1892. Electrified and extended to Streatham Library in1904. Extended to Norbury in1908. Linked with Croydon Corporation system in 1926 and through running inaugurated London - Purley.
