IN 1809 Lambeth Parish began to acquire land in Elder Road, West Norwood, to build the Lambeth House of Industry for Infant Poor. Elderwood, also known as Inglewood was part of the school initially and later run as an Old People's Home by the Greater London Council . It has subsequently been converted into private housing.
