WILLIAM PALMER ROUPELL

William Palmer Roupell. Member of Parliament for the Borough of Lambeth between 1857 - 1859. At the age of 31 year Roupell was convicted of forgery at the Old Bailey and sentenced in 1882 to penal servitude for life. In 1860, he became a founder member of the 19th Corps of the Surrey Rifles Volunteers and later and also a founder member and secretary of Brixton, Streatham and Clapham Horticultural Society. Roupell died in 1909 and is buried at Norwood Cemetery. 'Electorial History of the Borough of Lambeth.
