The memorial to Henry Fawcett in the centre of Vauxhall Park, demolished by the council in the early 1960's. Henry Fawcett, the blind Post-master General, who introduced the parcel post, postal orders and a scheme for small savings, also lobbied for public open spaces like the Epping Forest and New Forest.
