HENRY THRALE

Henry Thrale (1724 - 1781). Member of Parliament for Southwark, 1765 -1780.Thrale was one of the richest brewers in the country, owning a brewery at Southwark. At his country seat, Southwark Park, he entertained the leading people of his days, including the philosopher Edmund Burke, actor David Garrick, authoress Fanny Burney and the writer and lexicographer Dr. Samuel Johnson.
