MANSION, MANOR PARK ESTATE, STREATHAM CENTRAL

The Mansion of the Manor Park Estate, situatuated next to Streatham Green facing Streatham High Road, was demolished in the 1880s. The extent of the garden can be gauged by the large trees which disappeared when the estate was redeveloped and replaced by Gleneagle, Babington, Conyers and Fairmile Roads, part of Ambleside Avenue, the Broadway and shops on the High Road south of the Green, as well as Streatham Town Hall (demolished in 1973). The tower of Tower Lodge can be seen in the background on the left, now the site of the Manor Arms.
