Two photographs showing a selection of Doulton's plumbago crucibles used for the metal working industry on the left, and examples of electrical insulators on the right. The manufacture of glazed stoneware multiple conduits for underground electric cables was an important branch of the industry which originated in the Lambeth factory. Cheap, imperishable and non-conducting, the glazed stoneware conduits were highly recommended and Doultons were the sole manufacturers for many years. Photograph in 'The Royal Doulton Potteries' published by the Doulton Head Office in Lambeth.
