ORANGE LUXURY MOTOR COACH STATION, EFFRA ROAD, BRIXTON

This was the first Motor Coach Station in the county of London, built in 1927 in Effra Road, now the site of Windrush Square. A newspaper article dated 1st February 1930 remarked: 'near the late Mr Budd's memorial is a sort of motor-coach Clapham Junction in tangerine, almost as big, and certainly as ugly'. Published in 'Lambeth Guide', 1933. (p121)
