Hollingsworth works was an internationally famous telephone manufacturing company. During the war years they made 1,300,000 microphones , 1,200,000 receivers and various components manufactured for war purposes. The length of wire used on the coils and condensers was about 12,500,000 miles - enough to go 500 times around the earth. Published in the 'Lambeth Guide' 1951.
