Before the 1914-18 war, the manufacture of aspirin had been a German monopoly. Menley & James Ltd., were the first aspirin manufacturing chemist in the country with branches world wide. Their pharmaceutical medicine was prescribed by doctors throughout the world and later to the British public, through the National Health Service.Published in the 'Lambeth Guide' 1951.
