Sir Charles Barry, 1795-1860, lived at No.29 Clapham Common North Side, 'The Elms', later part of Trinity Hospice. One of the foremost architects of his day, he was knighted for his design for the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Engraving for Cassell's 'Old and New London', c.1850
