REV SAMUEL WILBERFORCE

The Right Reverend Samuel Wilberforce, D.D., Bishop of Oxford and then Winchester, was the son of William Wilberforce, who lived in Clapham and was one of the main members of the 'Clapham Sect', who were actively involved in the abolition of the slave trade. Samuel Wilberforce died in 1873. Engraved by D.J.Pound from a photograph by Mayall.
