THOMAS BABINGTON MACAULAY

Thomas Babington Macaulay, 1800-1859, Baron Macaulay of Rothley, was an eminent historian and writer. He lived at No.5 The Pavement with his father Zachary Macaulay, an evangelist who played an active role in the Clapham Sect's work in abolishing slavery. He was educated at Mr.Greave's Academy on Clapham Common North Side.
