‘BALDWIN BROWN’ CONVALESCENT HOME, HERNE BAY

‘BALDWIN BROWN’ CONVALESCENT HOME, HERNE BAY

Named after the Rev.James Baldwin Brown, who started the Moffat Institute, Vauxhall, the home depended entirely on charitable donations and the dedication of Rev Bernard Snell and the members of the congregation of the Brixton Independent Church. The patients were mainly mothers and young children from Brixton and Vauxhall who needed to convalesce following ill health and were unable to afford the care and rest that they needed.
