‘WOODFIELD’, BEDFORD HILL, STREATHAM

'Woodfield', a large Victorian mansion house with a gate lodge and gardens situated on the corner of Garrads Road and Bedford Hill. Built by architect Richard Drew in 1878, it became a nursing home in 1895, but was demolished in 1935, becoming the site of the Streatham Girls Public School (now Streatham and Clapham High School) and housing on Abbots Wood Road.
