STOCKWELL PARK ROAD, STOCKWELL

STOCKWELL PARK ROAD, STOCKWELL

This view shows houses in this stretch of Stockwell Park Road that still survive, as does St Michaels Church. The church, dating from 1841, survived the extensive damage done to the area by a flying bomb in World War II, which resulted in the area opposite the church being cleared for Slade Park, and more recently a children's adventure playground. The road beyond the junction with Robsart Road has large new housing estates on either side.
