98-106 BRIXTON ROAD, BRIXTON NORTH

A view of early Victorian ribbon development along the Brixton Road, which have been rehabilitated after years of neglect. Local resident's objections to the demolition of these buildings resulted in Lambeth Council's emphasis on improving existing housing. Their historical and architectural merit made this task essential but their poor condition made it a difficult and expensive one. Photograph by Sydney Newbery
