St. Leonard's School at the junction of Ambleside Avenue and Mitcham Lane. The building on the corner was the boys' school which was built on land presented to the parish by the Kymer family in1838. The girls'school, a two storey building further along the road was rebuilt in 1909 replacing an older building. The small shop unit of J.H.Jenkin & Co, builders, can be seen situated between the two sections of the school, at the far right.
