Dick Sheppard School, the L.C.C. secondary school for girls opened in Tulse Hill in September 1955. Considered to be a modern school with all the latest equipment, this view shows a dining-cum-classroom, used for dinner and teaching. Note the light steel frame construction, which was prevalent at the time and would have made it relatively cheap to dismantle when the school was closed down in 1994 and the site redeveloped for private housing.
