A scene from the pageant from the 1934 centenary Festival. Three of the girls in the this picture were Overall, (Daisy) Morris and (Judith) Chandler, Senior Girl, from House No. 2. The annual Festival was held on a day near to the founder's birthday of 19 June - and so was also known as Founder's Day. Visitors could tour the premises and meet staff and children as well as watch displays put on by the boys and girls. The chief guest at the centenary Festival was the Duchess of York, later to be Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother.
