The Norwood Schools, West Norwood, stood on high ground occupying about nineteen acres, with an intake of children who came under the operation of the Poor Law. Built as an industrial school to accommodate seven hundred children, it included an Infirmary with beds for one hundred more. This view shows a ward with the nursing staff and their young patients.Published in an article entitled 'A Day in the Life of a Workhouse Child'.
