The belfry with clock, above the west end of Holy Trinity Church, Clapham Common. The church was designed by the architect Mr Kenton Couse as the new parish church in Clapham, and completed in 1776. The ground was given by Mrs Penelope Pitt, a descendant of the Atkins family who had inherited the Manor. The church became famous as the church of the Clapham Sect and memorial tablets outside the church commemorate their part in the abolition of the slave trade.
