FORMER BAPTIST CHURCH, GIPSY ROAD, WEST NORWOOD

The former Gipsy Road Baptist Church, West Norwood, during its conversion to apartments. The original foundation stone was laid on 27th September 1881 and it was built at a cost of £4,700. An organ was added in 1887 and the famous organist Alfred Hollins gave the opening recital. The church could hold 700 people and the site also included schoolrooms. Photographed on 30th July 2004.
