Main entrance gates for the British Home and Hospital for Incurables. The hospital was one of the earliest institutions of its kind having been founded in 1861. It moved from Clapham Road to Crown Lane and the new hospital was officially opened by the Prince and Princess of Wales on 3rd June 1894. The site was formerly Norwood Lodge, the home of Mr Joseph Maudslay, a partner in Maudslay Bros, the famous engineering firm. Photographed on 2nd September 2004.
