This captured ME 109 German fighter plane on view at Clapham Common, was used to raise funds for the sponsorship of a local Spitfire for Clapham. Lambeth also presented a Spitfire to the Royal Air Force through public subscription. From a newspaper cutting in 1940.Part of the Lambeth Archives Home Front project 2005.
