An invite from the Mayor and Mayoress of Lambeth to attend a fund raising tea at Christ Church Club Hall, Oval, in aid of Lambeth Warships Week. It was organised by the Women's Voluntary Service (WVS) of the Lambeth Community Kitchens with the help of Vera Calvin. Vera had joined the WVS in 1938 and helped set up emergency feeding centres and also began 'meals on wheels' for the eldery in Southwark during World War II.Digital image by kind permission of Vera Calvin.
