The Benevolent Society of St Patrick was formed in 1784 for educating and clothing children born of Irish parents. This school was built by the Society in Stamford Street and accommodated 400 children.Engraving originally from 'The Gentleman's Magazine' July 1822 and rebound with Thomas Allen's 'History and Antiquities of the Parish of Lambeth', c.1852.
