Life Mask of the 'immortal' William Blake. A photograph presented to the Blake Memorial by Richard C.Jackson F.S.A and annotated: 'This mask taken by Deville, the Phrenologist, when Blake was about fifty years of age (in 1807), who wished to possess a fine representation of the imaginative faculty - It might well be asked If any man ever possessed a fuller temple or a more finely packed brow? The quivering intensity in the closed eyes & dilated nostrils is wonderful; while his stubborn English chin is a glory to behold!''The donor of this rare protrait of the immortal William Blake resided at the beautiful mansion of Bowyer Park, Camberwell.'
