Children posing on a bridge in the grounds of Eagle House, Clapham Common South Side. Eagle House was the home of William Edgar, founder in 1820 of the Swan and Edgar department store at Piccadilly Circus. It was demolished after the death of his widow in 1889, except for one wing (now in Narbonne Avenue) and the grounds of were developed with terraced housing.
