The 'Destruction of Job's Sons and Daughters' from the engravings by William Blake illustrating the Old Testament's 'Book of Job' - a detail from Plate iii. Blake (1751 -1827) poet and artist, lived in Hercules Buildings, Lambeth with his wife Catherine from 1790 - 1800. Here he wrote some of his most well-known poems including 'Songs of Experience', and 'America'. The house was demolished c.1917-18.
