MR DEANE’S PHARMACY, THE PAVEMENT, CLAPHAM

Mr Deane's Pharmacy, 17 The Pavement, Clapham. Henry Deane was the local chemist and a keen amateur photographer. His pictures are the earliest photographic record of Clapham and this shop, which was also his home, still stands today. In 1843 he married Jemima Elliott, who ran a school at Weimar House. He also became a churchwarden. Scan of negative from Clapham Antiquarian Society, probably taken by Henry Deane.
