HUGO KAAGMAN ARTWORK, CANS FESTIVAL, LEAKE STREET

Artwork by Hugo Kaagman at the Cans Festival, Leake Street, Waterloo. Kaagman (born 1955, Haarlem, Netherlands) began developing his own stencil graffiti style in 1977 and became active around Amsterdam's city centre. His work now often reflects a particular concern with Western and non-Western cultures. This image includes The Queen and Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.The Festival, which ran from 3rd-5th May, was organised by Pictures on Walls and Blank Expression with the permission of the British Rail Residuary Board and Department of Transport. It was the world's largest exhibition of stencilled street art, and featured over 40 international artists, attracting 30,000 visitors.
