Nos 119-127, on the north-west side of Lower Marsh, Waterloo, including the Artichoke public house, one of the longest established pubs in the north of the parish. Now known as the Camel & Artichoke, the pub was rebuilt in 1878 by architect H.J.Newton. The earlier building was often used for inquests including one in 1808 for a Mrs McKash, who 'expired on Thursday evening last, on her way home from Astley's Amphitheatre....the jury returned a verdict - Died by the visitation of God.'Photograph by Sam Lambert.
