South Connections costume band members posing with firemen at the 2009 Notting Hill Carnival. The mas (masquerade) band first formed in 1985, when they were known as 'Ovalionz'. These costumes were designed by Shaun Carrington and the band is administered by Heather Elliott from its base at the Oval House Theatre, Kennington.
